Berg-en-Dal is located in the southern part of Kruger National Park. Known as one of the nicest restcamps in the area, Berg-en-Dal also has some of the best game viewing in Kruger National Park. This extensive Kruger National Park conference venue can cater up to 300 delegates in cinema style. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners can be arranged on request. Please note that all equipment is hired at additional cost.

Kruger Park Conference Accommodation


Berg-en-Dal is a lovely restcamp offering camping, accommodated and guest house accommodation. There are camping sites with electricity and some with no electricity, so make sure to enquire about this if you are booking. Make sure to also bring your own camping equipment. There are central ablution blocks for campers.


There are 69 x 3-bed bungalow units with en-suite bathrooms (showers, no baths), kitchenettes and air-conditioning. Some of the bungalows have perimeter views, which are available on request. Even though there is a restaurant and cafeteria, you can also bring food with to do your own cooking.


For those who would like more complete accommodation, there are 23 x 6 bed family cottage units. Two of the cottages can be accessed by wheelchair. Each unit has 2 rooms (one double bed and 2 single beds) and there are 2 single beds in the lounge. There is a separate shower, toilet and bath. Each cottage also features an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge.


Luxury options in this Kruger National Park restcamp are the 2 guest houses. Well equipped kitchens, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, air-conditioning, and limited DSTV channel televisions make up accommodation in one of the guest houses.

Berg-en-Dal Restcamp is located in southern Kruger National Park, with brilliant game viewing awaiting your eyes. Access is easily obtained by driving or flying from Johannesburg or Pretoria.


Directions to Berg-en-Dal Restcamp


By Air


The closest airport to Berg-en-Dal is Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) that is situated between Nelspruit and White River. KMIA is situated approximately 25 km from Nelspruit and about 70 km from Malelane Gate. There are daily scheduled flights between KMIA and OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, with less frequent flights from Cape Town and Durban International Airports respectively.


By Road: Malelane Gate


Take the N4 to Nelspruit and head through Nelspruit to Malelane. Then turn left at the Kruger National Park sign just outside Malelane and head to gate. Allow between 4 to 5 hours for the trip to the gate. Berg-en-Dal camp is 12 km away from the gate. Allow about 30 minutes for the drive to the camp, however if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time.

There are a variety of attractions and things to do while staying at Berg-en-Dal. All activities are at an extra charge. There are guided bush walks, game drives, bush breakfasts and bush braais (barbecue), Bushman and Wolhuter Wilderness Trails, Kids Educational Programme, Rhino Perimeter Trail camp walk - with Braille facilities and an eco-display in reception.
