Conferences in Kruger National Park in the midst of the African bush is an experience like no other. The fresh air, the tasty cuisine and the calming atmosphere helps with concentration and getting to the point. Located in the northern sector of Kruger National Park is the scenic Shingwedzi Restcamp. Waterbuck, Nyala, Kudu and Elephant are often seen in this area of the Park.

Shingwedzi is a rustic camp offering surroundings untouched by modern technology, leading to a spell binding experience. However the conference facility is one of the modern ones in the Park. All state-of-the-art equipment is provided. Some are at additional cost. Please note that laptops and computers are not provided.

Kruger Park Conference Accommodation

At Shingwedzi Restcamp, there is a guest house, cottages and bungalows. The Rentmeester Guest House has 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds and a bathroom, the other bed bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, and a sleeper couch. There is DSTV and a kitchen.

The family cottages have 2 bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning. There are 34 bungalows, perfect for 2 people with 2 single beds. Ten of the bungalows are set-up for self-catering with a kitchenette and air-conditioning. Then, 27 of the bungalows are prepared for 5 people, with 3 beds on the ground floor and 2 on the loft. The kitchenette has 2-plate stove and a mini fridge.

Directions to Shingwedzi Conference Venue

From central Gauteng to Punda Maria Gate

Take the N1 to Polokwane (Pietersburg). At Makhado (Louis Trichard) link up with the R524 and follow this route for ±140 km. That will take you to the gate. Allow between 5 to 6 hours for the trip to the gate. Shingwedzi Rest Camp is 71 km away from the gate. Allow about 3 hours for the drive to the camp.

However, if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself time. Please note that this drive cannot be done in one day, so flights are advised or stay at one of the other restcamps en route.

Kruger Park Conference Leisure Activities

Morning, evening and full day game drives are available to spot the wildlife of the Kruger National Park. If you book at the camp, only a max of 23 delegates can go on the game drive. If you book before hand, any number of delegates can be taken out on a game drive. There are 3 - 4 hour bush walks in the morning. These are quite exciting as you get close to nature.
