Oudtshoorn Conference Accommodation


This Oudtshoorn conference accommodation consists of 25 luxury tents on the edge of the natural waterhole that offer beautiful views of the Klein Karoo landscape. Each has its own wooden deck overlooking the water where guests can relax, admire the view and spot the game. The tents of this Garden Route conference accommodation are all situated in unique Karoo landscape and you will be transported from the safe parking lot to Buffelsdrift in a golf cart.


Buffelsdrift offers luxury conference accommodation, conference venue, restaurant and wedding chapel are on the edge of the waterhole and offer breathtaking views of the Klein Karoo. Trained guides will escort guests on an early morning or later afternoon bush safari with a pitstop at one of the lookout points – presenting the perfect opportunity for spectacular photographs. Ice-cold sundowners served on the lookout deck next to the open-air bar mark the end of a perfect day with the sun setting over the mountains at Buffelsdrift.

Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is a sprawling game farm in the fertile Cango Valley at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains – South Africa's sixth World Heritage Site, in the Garden Route, South Africa. Pristine bushveld, lush vegetation and a 5 ha natural waterhole create a haven for a variety of game species and more than 217 bird species.


Situated only 7 kilometres outside Oudtshoorn, the Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is in the heart of Ostrich country, half-an-hour's drive from the Swartberg Mountain Nature Reserve and the isolated valley of Gamkaskloof in the Garden Route, South Africa.

The Buffelsdrift Conference Venue exits onto the wooden deck with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and Karoo plains. This venue is available for a maximum of 100 delegates and has the latest AV technology. The venue is ideal for conferences, seminars, motivational speakers, team building, presentations and social events.


Weddings at Buffelsdrift


The Karoo Wedding Chapel is a tiny wooden chapel with thatched dome, situated on the edge of the natural waterhole and a wide wooden deck as entrance to the intimate little chapel. This deck serves as seating space for wedding guests witnessing the bridal couple exchanging their wedding vows. The chapel is ideal for romantic country weddings.


Game-viewing Activities


Take a bush safari in an open game vehicle on your Garden Route holiday to a panoramic lookout point where refreshments will be enjoyed while taking in the natural beauty of the environment. Game viewing on horseback is also an option – guests will be escorted by a trained guide to get a closer view of game roaming the vast undulating hills.

The excellent Buffelsdrift Restaurant offers an à la carte or buffet menu that specializes in local Karoo cuisine that includes homemade preserves, chutney, pickles – fresh produce and herbs from the area as well as a variety of freshly baked oven bread. The selected wine list is a true representation of excellent South African wine and offers guests some of the best award-winning wines on the R62 – the longest wine route in South Africa.


The open-air bar is situated next to the conference venue and is an extension of the wooden deck. The bar offers a variety of soft drinks, spirits and a wide selection of local wine and port. The neigbouring town of Calitzdorp houses 3 of the top wine estates on the R62 - also known as 'The Port Capital of the World'.
